Houston J. Ivy, 70, 905 E. Ford Ave., Muscle Shoals, life expired on Wednesday Jan. 12, 1983 at his residence.
He was borm on April 22, 1912, in Tishoingo, Co., MS., to C. L. and Ella Ivy. Married Delphia Moore on September 09, 1939, in Tishomingo, Co.

He was a member of the Muscle Shoals Methodist Church, a retired employee of Ford Motor, Co, and a part time employee of Sparko Stores, in Muscle Shoals.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Delphia Moore Ivy; a daughter, Quaye Yarber (Bob) of Belmont, 2 sons, Caroll (Billie) of Booneville, Jackie, of Hot Springs, Ark., six sisters; Ruth Ivy of Tupelo, Berniece Sparks, (Ross), Mary McAnally, Gladdis Wigginton (Dallas), Rada Malone (Preston) all of Belmont, Mildred Sartin (Walter), of Booneville; 3 brothers: Austin (Erma), Otha(Nan) of Belmont, and Roy Ivy (Evelyn) of Tupelo, a sister-in-law OniLee Ivy; Four grandchildren; John Carlton and Jason Carroll Ivy, Terri and Robert H. Ivy Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Grover Ivy, a sister; Lorene Ivy Johnson and her husband Dalton Johnson (double murder on May 30, 1977).

Services were on Friday Jan. 14, 1983 at the Belmont United Methodist Church in Belmont, Miss. with Burial in the Belmont Memorial Gardens, Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont directing.
