Booneville----Mildred Ivy Sartin, 76,died Saturday, Jan. 3 2009, at Gregory House of the Traceway Retirement Community after an extended illiness. She was a former resident of Booneville. She was born July 3,1932 in Tishomingo County to the late Rev. C.L. and Ella Newell Ivy. She was a graduate of Blmont High school and received a B.S. degree from Delta State University and a M.E. degree from Mississippi College. She was a retired teacher from Northeast Mississippi Community College, Leflore County Schools and Hinds County Schools after serving 34 years. While in Leflore County she was honored with the 1964 Yearbook Dedication. She was a member of the Mississippi Retired Educators and the BPW Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Booneville and the Wesley Sunday School Class. She formerly served three terms as lay delegate to the Mississippi Annual Conference for Booneville FUMC.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Hankins, Bro. Philip Box and Bro. Earl McAnally officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery. McMillian Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Sartin of Booneville; two sisters, Rada Malone and Gladdis Wigginton; three sister-in-law, Evelyn Ivy, Mildred Horton and Catherine Rodriguez; special nephew, Carroll Ivy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,Walter Bryon Sartin; an infant son, David Bryon Satin; six brothers, Grover, Austin, Houston, Otha, Roy and Troy Ivy; and five sisters, Lorene Johnson, Bernice Sparks, Ruth Ivy, Mary McAnally and Evelyn Ivy.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Kelly Ivy, Randy Ivy, Jackie Ivy, Harold Sparks, Merie McAnally and Evelyn Ivy.

Visitation will be from 4;30 to 8;30 tonight and will continue until service time on MOnday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Booneville.
