Our sweet Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mildred Thomas Wayment Bird, was called home into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.

Mildred was born to Chester Thomas Wayment and Thelma Virginia Thomas Wayment and was raised in Warren, Utah along with her 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She graduated from Weber High School in 1951. She also graduated from Weber College in 1953. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Utah State University and then began working for the Weber County School District for the next 34 years. She taught at Washington Terrace Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Plain City Elementary Schools.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington Terrace 4th Ward and has held many callings in Primary, Young Womens and Relief Society. As a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, she served a term as President and enjoyed many activities and lessons.

Mildred married and was sealed to Robert Earl Bird on October 12, 1960 and was blessed with three beautiful children, Stanley (Pam) Bird, Linda (Kelly) Muncy and Dorothy (Randy) Donnelson. She also holds the title of Grandmother of 12 and Great Grandma of 2.

In the latter part of her life she enjoyed being in the company of ward members, neighbors and daily phone calls with her sister Connie.

She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and sister, Connie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters, June, Marjorie, Helen and Lorna; and brothers, Gene and Bill.

Special thanks to Hearts for Hospice and to the late Dr. Qader for home visits with love and concern.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 12th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.
