Connie Wayment Rhees, 94, passed away on June 7, 2018.
Connie was born February 16, 1924 in Warren, Utah to Thelma Virginia (Thomas) and Chester Thomas Wayment. She attended Plain City Elementary, Weber High School and Ogden Business College. She lived in Warren for 20 years, Pleasant View for 71 years and has lived the last 3 years at Quail Meadow in North Ogden.
Connie married Jay Herbert Rhees on June 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. As a member of the LDS Church she held various church positions; she worked as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for 14 years. She was the head secretary at Lomond View Elementary for 27 years, and was like a second mother to many students.
She and her husband raised Arabian horses and were members and leaders of the Utah Arabian Horse Club. She enjoyed knitting and donated many knitted items to Ogden charities. She loved nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed watching and feeding the deer and other wildlife in her yard. Beauty and life flourished everywhere around her. Her roses and lilacs and towering pine trees in her immaculate, amazing acre-sized garden were a great source of pride. She never lost her sense of adventure and her natural curiosity. She was fortunate enough to travel widely throughout the world.
