NO. OGDEN - Helen Wayment Hollingshead, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2005 due to an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1935 in Ogden, UT. She married Sterlin Hollingshead on October 26, 1962 in Rawlings, WY; their marriage was later sealed in the Ogden Temple on December 30, 1972.
Helen was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Weber State College, receiving her degrees at Weber State College, and Bachelor of Nursing at U of U. She was a member of the North Ogden LDS 8th Ward. She served as a Young Women's Advisor, Primary teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, Relief Society teacher, Canning Coordinator, and became a Golden Gleaner in her youth. Helen was active in the community as a Red Cross and a Hospice volunteer. Surviving are her husband, Sterlin Hollingshead; sons and daughters, Jon W Hollingshead, Ogden; Cara (Bryce) Jones and granddaughter, Bradie Jill Jones, Henefer; Amy (Ray) Lopez, Ogden; adopted son, Hamid (Wendy) Janversan , and adopted grandsons, Holden and Chasse Janversan, Cottonwood. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, June Orton, Connie Rhees, Mildred (Robert) Bird, Lorna (Carl) Barker, Jenae Shupe (William T-Bill) Wayment, Gene (Diane) Wayment. She
was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Hollingshead; brother, William T. Bill Wayment; sister, Marjorie Remmington; and both her parents Chester T. and Thelma Thomas Wayment. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Ogden 8th Ward Chapel, 2250 N. Fruitland Drive, North Ogden, Utah 84414, with Bishop Randy Wahlquist officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden,
845 Washington Blvd. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to the Helen Hollingshead Nursing Scholarship Fund at Zions Bank or at the services. Bradie Jill will miss watching Roseanne and Proffesional Bull Riders during her Friday night sleep-overs with Grandma and Grandpa. Helen had a deep love of the outdoors and enjoyed traveling with her family. She had a keen eye for spotting wildlife from killer whales and Dall sheep in Alaska; to pilot whales in Hawaii; and she finally got to see her grizzly bear in Yellowstone. Her talented and creative hands made many special keepsakes that she shared with everyone. Her influence and generosity has been spread far and wide. She was an avid reader and had a great sense of humor. She was a loving nurse to her immediate and extended family, friends, and even pets. She'll be missed by all and welcomed by many - especially her daughter Jill.
