Martha Ellen Healea was born at Cadiz, Ohio on July 19, 1855 and departed this life at Omaha, Nebraska, July 7, 1937 at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

On August 2, 1872 she was married to W.A. Stewart and to this union was born 13 children: Charles and Roy L. of Culbertson; Flora Buchanan, Ruth Bergeson, and Georgia Black of Omaha; Grace Cramer of Craig; Alice Jones of Springfield, Missouri; Maude McClain of Kansas City, Missouri; Ida May Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama; and Blanch Dansbery of Denver, Colorado.

She leaves to mourn her passing these ten children, 50 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Her husband and three children preceded her in death several years ago.

Martha Stewart was baptized and became a member of the Christian Church of Craig, Nebraska early in her married life and was faithful to the church to the end.

She moved with her husband to Hitchcock county about 39 years ago, where their children grew to manhood and womanhood and are widely known.

In 1931 she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never recovered and since April she has been confined to the Southside Hospital at Omaha where she passed quietly away Wednesday, July 7, after suffering another stroke.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church at Culbertson with the Rev. M.S. Satchell officiating. Internment was in the Culbertson cemetery.
