Funeral services were held in Zion Evangelical church here Tuesday forenoon at 11 o'clock for Roy L. Stewart, a well-known farm resident of this community, who died in the McCook home of his daughter, Mrs. Beaulah Hamilton, on Saturday, June 9.

The health of Mr. Stewart began to fail rapidly about a year ago, and his death was hastened by injuries he received when kicked by a horse last February.

Roy Leslie Stewart, son of W.A. and Martha E. Stewart, was born at Craig, Nebraska on September 22, 1878. He attained the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 17 days.

On October 23, 1905 he was united in marriage at Atwood, Kansas with Miss Hazel Bymer. They were the parents of 13 children, all of whom are still living except one daughter, Altha Alice, who passed away in infancy in 1911.

For practically all of their married life of more than 40 years, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart has been on a farm about nine miles northeast of Culbertson, which was their place of residence at the time of his death.

In his journey through life, Roy Stewart was held in very high regard by all who knew him for his high Christian principles, his spirit of good fellowship toward neighbors and friends and his devotion to his wife and children.

Those deeply bereaved by the departure of a kind and loving husband and father are the widow, six sons, Cecil M. of North Platte, Nebraska; Don A. at home; Roy L. of Culbertson; Orville D. and Virgil of McCook, Nebraska; and Wayne A. at home; also six daughters, Mrs. Martha Berns of Culbertson; Mrs. Beulah Hamilton of McCook, Nebraska; Edna of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Lora Wagner of McCook, Nebraska; Mrs. Dorothy White of Wolfsborn, New Hampshire; and Joan at home. Other survivors include one brother, Charles E. Stewart of Culbertson, eight sisters and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.E. Schroeder, pastor of Zion Evangelical church, and interment was in the Culbertson cemetery. During the church services, there were songs by a ladies' quartet composed of Mrs. George Hein, Mrs. Dorsey Lehman, Mrs. Everett Kern, and Miss Jean Bauer, with Mrs. George Gerlach as accompanist.
