Joseph F. "Joe" Clow, 71, of Olney, died Thursday, November 27, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2 at Mt. Gilead Church in Olney with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating.
A special Elks service will be held.
Burial will follow services in Haven Hill Memorial Garden in Olney.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, December 1 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney.

Joe was born the eighth of 12 children to Joseph and Pauline (Stivers) Clow, August 11, 1943.

Joe lived his entire life locally though he traveled extensively with his job throughout the country. He never met a stranger and made lasting friendships wherever he went.

He married Karen Dugan December 8, 1962, and she survives.

Two children were born to their union, Greg Clow and Susan Clow Conley.

Joe excelled in sports in his younger years and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. He loved kids and wanted to see them excel. He coached Little League teams for 20 years in Lawrence and Richland counties. He was instrumental in getting the junior football program started here. He always had an encouraging word to say to all kids competing.

Joe was a member of Mt. Gilead Church, Elks Club, and VFW Men's Auxiliary.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Clow, of Olney; son, Greg and Hilary Clow, of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Susan and John Conley, of St. Charles, Missouri; grandchildren, Gregory Joe, Katherine and Emaline Clow, of Norfolk, Virginia, Ashley, Chris and Peyton Bruns, of Indianapolis, and Indiana, and Patrick Conley, of St. Charles, Missouri; brothers, Henry and Beverly Clow, of Olney, Kenneth and Trish Clow, of Dalton City, and David and Doreen Clow, of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; sisters, Betty and Walter Cox, of Lakeport, California, Edith and Willie Polk, of Shelbyville, and Linda and Tom Horn, of Olney; and sisters-in-law, Gladys and Trella Clow, both of Olney.

Ten years ago, Joe and Karen adopted a family and they also survive: Jim, Rena, Hunter, and Taylor Meritt, Mandy, Chris and Mack Ginder, Jamie, Nick, Brenna, and Landon Smith; Jana, Dustin, Gracie and Warren Toombs, and Adam and Maggie McKnight.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Vivianne Elaine Clow; brothers, Paul, Dick ad Bill Clow Sr.; and sisters, Shirley and Roy Darby, and Patsy and Fred Kufleitner.
