Lucille Virginia Lee 85, of Fairmont died Monday May 18, 1998 at St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home, Monongaha, WV. She was born March 20, 1911 in Mannington, a daughter of the late Alvy Leonard and Tillie Criss Merrifield. She was a graduate of Mannington High School Class of 1932. She operated Vogue Beauty Shop in Mannington from 1934-1941. She later operated the Lucy Lu Shop in Fairmont. She was a member of the Quota Club in Fairmont since 1954 and served as president from 1961-1962. She was also a member of the American Red Cross and served on the board and as a volunteer.
She is survived by one sister, Minnie P. Harker of Mannington and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Lee, two sisters Leona Glover and Gail Nichols and one brother Elmer Merrifield. There will be no funeral home visitation. At the request of the Deceased the body has been cremated. Masters Funeral Home 209 Main Street Mannington was in charge of arrangements.(Clipping Sylvia Sine Whittaker)
