George A. Thoman, 58, of 2209 E. Monroe St. died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Bradfordton, the son of William A. and Maggie Catherwood Thoman, and was a resident of Springfield for his entire life. His mother preceded him in death in 1956.
A member of the Eagles and the UAW-CIO Local 1027, he was also a veteran of World War II and an employee of the Allis-Chalmers Mfg. Co. here for 31 years. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his father, William A. of Springfield; two brothers, John A. of Rochester and Joseph E. of St. Charles; and one sister, Elizabeth A. Heyen of Springfield.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bisch Memorial Home, with Rev. Walter D. Krech officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
