Potter, Robert "Pete", 64, of Chattanooga, died Monday in a local hospital. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he was a coach at Northside Junior High School, City High School, Brainerd High School and McCallie School.
He was the brother of the late Herbert Lawson and Ralph Potter. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Potter, daughter, Lisa Bryant, Dunlap, Tenn., son, Ralph Potter, Chattanooga; two brothers, John and Jesse Potter; three sisters Irene Nye, Barbara Lawson, Nellie Haithcock, all of Chattanooga; four grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the McCallie School Chapel with Elder Roger Fitch and the Rev.Jonathan Richey officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the McCallie School Athletic Department or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
