Evelyn Irene Nye Jones, 87, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, December 28, 2015 in a local health care facility.
She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Chattanooga to the late Jesse and Nellie Potter.
Mrs. Jones was a member of White Oak Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold E. Nye, Jr.; second husband, Aston Jones; son, Steve E. Nye; brothers, Herbert Lawson, John Potter, Ralph Potter, and Pete Potter.
Survivors include her sisters, Barbara (John) Barclay of Chattanooga and Nellie (Tom) Haithcock of Hixson; brother, Jesse Allen (JoAnn) Potter of Hixson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 9 a.m. in the North Chapel with Minister Jim Dearman and Minister Shane Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
