Wilson Edwards was born on February 17, 1918, in Lynn County to William Burton Edwards and Susan Belle Nunley Edwards. He was married to his wife, Laura Jane "Polly" Milliken on April 7, 1940 in Tahoka. They were married over 65 years before her death on May 15, 2005. Wilson spent most of his life working the land and farming. Wilson and Polly lived in Plains, Texas, for 10 years where he was Deputy Sheriff of Yoakum County in the 80ies. Later he worked for over 12 years as a Sheriff's Deputy for the Lubbock County Sheriff's Dept. until his retirement. Wilson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James Craig and Candy of Floydada, Tx., two grandchildren, Chad Edwards and Shannon Beard, and nine great-grandchildren.
Wilson will always be remembered for his love of family and his wonderful sense of humor and his unique laugh. He was loved by all.
Graveside services were held at the Tahoka Cemetery on June 14, 2010, with his great-grandson Jared Beard officiating. Zenda Benton, a niece, sang "How Great Thou Art" and was joined by all the nieces and nephews singing "Amazing Grace".
FLOYDADA - Services for Woodrow Edwards, 92, of Floydada are pending with Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Mr. Edwards died Thursday, June 10, 2010, in Ralls.
