ALVIN F. LEWIS

Alvin F. Lewis, age 75, of 1333 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, October 3, 1993, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 1993, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc, Graveside. Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post NO. 659.
He was born June 18, 1918, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, son of the late Matthew and Louisa Gerl Lewis. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army stationed in England and European Theatre. He married the former Eleanor Bonk on May 18, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Lewis was a Teamster with Consolidated Freightway Company for many years until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and VFW Otto Oas Post NO. 659.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Lewis, Manitowoc; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Michael Barry, Sturgeon Bay, Cele Lewis, Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Kristin, Timothy, Kevin Barry, Amanda and Kaitlyn Lewis; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Eugene Lewis, Gerhardt and Ruth Lewis, Lloyd and Nan Lewis, John Lewis, all of Manitowoc, Edward and Barb Lewis, Monmouth, Ill; one sister, Ann Marie Zankle, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Lewis, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Lewis and a brother-in-law, James Zankle.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 4-9 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday by Father Roman.
