Anna Marie was born May 2, 1932 in Valders, daughter of the late Mathew and Louisa (Gerl) Lewis. She was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1950. On June 23, 1951 she was united in marriage to James Zankle at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1986. Anna worked in food service as a cook for Park Lawn and for the Manitowoc Health Care Center. She was the President of the Angel Society at Manitowoc Health Care Center and enjoyed volunteering her time there as well. Anna was also a member of the St. Claire Society. She liked crocheting, knitting, reading, and bowling. Anna also loved watching both the Packers and the Badgers play football.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law: Peggy Krey, Manitowoc, Barb Zankle, Appleton, Terry and Peter Wiesner, Valders; four grandchildren: Melissa (Rick) Roeske, Green Bay, Tara (Justin) Czachor, De Pere, Justin Krey, Manitowoc, Andy (Brittany) Wiesner, Whitelaw; great grandchildren: James, Addi, Addison, Emerson, Evelyn, Kendal, Cameron, Nora, Alex (Brittney) and Ashley ; one great great grandchild: Cameron; one brother: Lloyd (Twila) Lewis, Omaha, NB; one sister-in-law: Diane Zankle, Manitowoc; special nieces: Carole O'Malley, Ronnie Lakin, Cele Lewis. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Anna was preceded in death by her husband; brothers and sisters-in-law: George Lewis, Alvin and Eleanor Lewis, Gary and Ruth Lewis, Eugene and Dorothy Lewis, John (Red) Lewis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Elaine and Tony Gospodarek and Francis Zankle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Decemeber 12, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue). Burial will take place at Knollwood Cemetery in the town of Kossuth.
