Joe Dorzweiler, age 77, passed away at Cherry Meadows, Appleton, on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Joe was born on August 7, 1937, in Menasha, to the late Alois and Rose (Walters) Dorzweiler.

He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. Joe was employed as a foreman at the George A. Whiting Paper Company in Menasha for over 36 years, retiring in 1997. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1963.

Joe enjoyed golfing, gardening, travel with Dorothy, and was an avid Packer and Badger fan. He was well-known for his great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his sister, Patricia C. Lotzer; his sisters-in-law, Addie Dorzweiler, Doris Dorzweiler and Carol Dorzweiler; his brother-in-law, George Wenzel; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Wenzel, Elmer Dorzweiler, William Dorzweiler, Donald Dorzweiler, Walter Dorzweiler, George Dorzweiler, Harold Dorzweiler and John Dorzweiler.

Abiding by Joe's wishes, funeral services will be private. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

Joe's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially Claudia and Amy, and the staff at Cherry Meadows, for their loving care.

A memorial has been established in Joe's name to benefit the American Heart Association.
