Albert Travis "Elic" Walden of Burnside, Kentucky, died at his home after a long illness. He was 71 years old.

He was born in Rowena, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received a Purple Heart, Oak Leaf Cluster, and Bronze Oak Leaf. He was retired from Grissom-Rakestraw Lumber Company.

He was survived by his wife, Ruth (McDaniel) Walden (married July 14, 1956 in Ringgold, Georgia); his sons, Timothy Lee Walden and Thomas Marshall Walden, both of Burnside, Kentucky; his daughter, Sheila (Walden) Gover of Somerset, Kentucky; his brothers, F.M. "Jake" Walden of Eubank, Kentucky, Joe Melvin Walden, Elmer Ray "Shorty" Walden, and Arvis Willard "Arvey" Walden, all of Bronston, Kentucky, and R.B. Walden, of Science Hill, Kentucky; his sisters, Lytha Martin of New Castle, Indiana and Ella Wallen of Somerset, Kentucky; and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Marshall Walden and Mary (Brown) Walden; and his sisters, Dora Branscum and Bobbie Dean Gibson.

Funeral services were held at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Reynolds officiating.
