She was born March 18, 1917, in Ticonderoga, New York, the daughter of James and Mary (Downey) Donahue.
She was a member of Holy Name Church, Au Sable Forks.
She was survived by a son, Michael LaFountain of Au Sable Forks; seven sisters, Marie LaFountain and Mary Newton, both of Ticonderoga, Helen Thompkins of Mechanicville, New York, Agnes Pierce and Evelyn Phinney, both of Westport, New York, Alice Carey of Florida, and Blanche Brown of Port Henry, New York; three sisters-in-law, Delphine Nelson of Au Sable Forks, Lena Hart of Wilmington, New York, and Mamie Lafountain of Scotia, New York; a brother-in-law, Oril LaFountain of Peru, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Arthur LaFountain, and two brothers, James and Michael Donahue, died before her.
Calling hours were held Tuesday, February 4, 1997, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in Au Sable Forks. A funeral Mass was said Wednesday, February 5, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Au Sable Forks. Burial was at a later date in Holy Name Cemetery.
