Helen D Tompkins, 83, died Saturday April 11, 1998. She was born Nov. 16, 1914, the daughter of James and Mary (Downey)Donahue. Mrs. Tompkins was employed for many years by the family of Alexander Treadwell, New York's Secretary of State. She was a member and past grand regent of the Catholic Daughters, Court Father Isaac Jogues and the Altar and Rosary Society. After her retirement, she enjoyed flower gardening. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Pat Dougan of Ballston Spa; a grand-daughter Heather Dougan of Albany, a grandson, Brian Dougan of Ballsotn; six sisters: Evelyn Phinney and Agnes Pierce of Westport, Blanche Brown of Port Henry, Mary Newton and Marie LaFountain of Ticonderoga, and Alice Carey of Florida. Her Husband Royal (Dick) Tompkins, a sister Florence and two brothers died before her.
