NEW PORT RICHEY, FLA. / PORT HENRY, N.Y. - ALICE K. (Donahue) Carey, of New Port Richey and Port Henry, passed away on Saturday, July 28th 2018.

She was born on October 27th 1922, she was the eighth child of James Edward and Mary Jane (Downey) Donahue Sr., of Mineville, N.Y.

By education Alice was a Beautician, because they traveled with her husband’s position she was a Homemaker, world traveler, and volunteered at local hospitals.

In 2010 Alice’s 3 nieces Mari, Jennifer and Abigale moved her back home from Florida so they would be able to care for her. The care was shared amongst the girls as well as others.

She was predeceased by her parents; her father James Donahue Sr. on June 15th 1966 and her mother Mary Donahue in 1936, seven sisters; Marie (Donahue) LaFountain on March 4th 2001, Helen (Donahue) Tompkins on April 11th 1998, Florence M. (Donahue) LaFountain on January 31st 1997, Mary H. (Donahue) Newton on September 12th 2005, Agnes (Donahue) Pierce on January 7th 2004, Evelyn R. (Donahue) Phinney on April 27th 2001, and Blanche (Donahue) Brown on April 20th 2015, two brothers; Michael Thomas Donahue on May 29th 1945 in World War II and James E. Donahue on August 24th 1982.

She was also predeceased by seven brothers-in-law; Philomen "Philip" Almer LaFountain in August of 1975, Arthur W. LaFountain on October 1st 1989, Royal "Dick" C. Tompkins on September 23rd 1991, Harold L. Newton on September 27th 1992, Joseph G. Pierce on May 3rd 1987, Rolland F. Phinney on January 11th 2005, and Robert "Bob" F. Brown on November 25th 2014, by (the love of her life) her husband; Robert "Bob" Carey, one nephew; Michael Gelina, two nieces; Rita LaFountain and Carol (Phinney) Plonka, one great nephew; Brian Dougan, and one great niece; Abigale C. Trybendis on July 9th 2013 whom she adored and they spent much quality time together. Abigale would spend her time in Florida painting, doing yard work (whatever Aunt Allie had on her list) and fishing in the back yard.

Arrangements by the Harland Funeral Home on 4279 Main Street in Port Henry, N.Y.

Alice chose to be laid to rest with her family at the Moriah Community Cemetery in Moriah, N.Y.
