Ray Hamlin, age 68, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.

Born in Pine Knot on October 9, 1946, he was the son of the late Luther and Nellie (Cox) Hamlin. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Dustin Hamlin, his three brothers: Elmer, Archie and Roy Hamlin, three sisters: Ruby Gilreath, Ruth Wilson, and Reba Anderson.

Surviving family include his wife Pat (Reynolds) Hamlin of Pine Knot, a son Wesley Hamlin (wife Jennifer) of Pine Knot, two daughters: Renee Kidd (and Andy) of Strunk, Kim Cooler (and Troy) of Pine Knot, two sisters: Pernia Lay of Pine Knot and Nora Mae Walker of Williamsburg, five grandchildren: Alle, Kade, Shae, Kisha, Colby and Toria and four great grandchildren: Madison, Emory, Kyson and Korbyn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ray was a retired coal miner and self-employed carpenter. He was a family oriented man who enjoyed family gatherings, riding his youngest son on the four wheeler and working alongside of his other son. He loved to joke and cut up with family and friends. Ray was proud of each one of his family members and loved each one dearly. Home and family was his life. He was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God having joined in 2009.

Funeral services: Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby officiating.

Interment: Bethel Cemetery

Visitation: Wednesday from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
