Reba Hamlin Anderson, 77 years of age, of Somerset, KY, departed this life to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Reba was born on October 27th, 1936 in Duck Run, KY, daughter of the late Luther and Nellie Cox Stephens Hamlin. She was a member of East Somerset Baptist Church. Reba worked at Tecumseh for over 20 years and was a former volunteer at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Reba was survived by one son, Randall Wayne Anderson of Somerset; one daughter, Elaine (and Steve) Sharpe of Somerset; one brother, Ray (and Pat) Hamlin of Pine Knot; two sisters, Nora Mae Walker of Whitley County and Pernia Lay of Pine Knot; three grandchildren, Bryan S. New, Travis L. New, and Casi Marie Warren; three great-grandchildren, Anna R. New, Raegan B. New, and Aubrie J. Warren; one brother-in-law, Fred Wilson of Ohio; three sister-in-laws, Marie Hamlin of Ohio, Elsie Hamlin of Ohio, and Ruby Hamlin of Marshes Siding, KY; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hamlin and Nellie Cox Stephens Hamlin; her husband, Boyd Anderson; three brothers, Elmer Hamlin, Archie Hamlin, and Roy Hamlin; two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Ruby Gilreath; and two brother-in-laws, Raymond Walker and Algia Lay.
Visitations were held on Monday, October 27th, 2014 after 5:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery in Pulaski County, KY.
