Michael N. Schott, 84, of West Bangor, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem, PA. Born in Freeland, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Krusko) Schott. He and his wife, Kathryn Verona Schott, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 22, 2015.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War stationed in the Panama Canal Zone with the Military Police division. He was a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 28 years serving in Bedford, Plymouth Meeting, Bethlehem, Easton, Belfast and Stockertown. After his retirement he served as Chief of Security for the Slate Belt Medical Center. He was also employed by Valerie Fashions, Inc. and the Pleasant Valley School District Security Department. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Parish and a former member of St. Roch's Catholic Church, West Bangor. He was a Life Member of the Martocci-Capobianco Post 750 American Legion of Roseto. He was a volunteer at the St. Joseph's Ministry Program, Wind Gap.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Suzanne K. Brands and her husband Brian J. Brands of Washington Township, NJ; grandchildren Lauren, Stacey, and Kyle Brands; two sisters, Mary Ann Peterson of Pottstown, PA, and Sister Helen Schott of the Sisters of St. Basil, Uniontown, PA.; nephews James Bannon of Douglassville, PA, Daniel Peterson of Pottstown, PA and Christopher Peterson (Joelle) of West Orange, NJ. He was preceded in death by two brothers Archbishop Basil Schott, O.F.M. of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh and Paul Schott.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Friday, November 13, 2015, at 1 PM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a visitation beginning at 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the church. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Pen Argyl. The Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, Pen Argyl is in charge of arrangements.
