Timothy Benedict McAsey, 91, Holton, died Saturday at a Holton nursing home.
He was born July 14, 1890, at Holton, the son of John P. and Mary Grannell McAsey. He spent most of his life in the Holton and Atchison communities and also lived in Abilene for a time.
Mr. McAsey farmed in the Holton community until 1920. He later was a farm produce buyer in the Frankfort and Effingham communities until 1940 when he moved to Atchison. At Atchison he worked at Wilson Packing, Cities Service Gas and a night watchman at the boys school at Mount St. Scholastica.
He was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Holton.
He married Elsie R. George June 30, 1919. She died in 1949.
Survivors include a son, Norman McAsey, Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Kidney, Ottawa, and Mrs. Agnes Lundstrom, Denver; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Holton. Parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, at Mercer Funeral Home.
