William Henry McAsey, 73, Route 3, Holton, died here August 24, 1977, in a hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 8.
He was born February 17, 1904 at his life-long home north of Holton. He was the youngest son born to John P. and Mary A. McAsey.
On October 9, 1947, he was united in marriage to Rita Winkler in Wetmore. To this union were born three children: Judy, William J. and Roger.
Bill had happy memories of the many dances which he played at and often reminisced about the work and the people he met while working numerous years for the Agriculture, Stabilization, and Conservation office (ASC) and also for the Soil Conservation Service office (SCS). He was a devoted husband and father. All who knew him recognized how kind and gentle he was.
He was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at Holton.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Julia Flynn and Rose Beems-Alley; and four brothers; Michael, Edward, Matt, and John. He is survived by his wife, Rita; a daughter, Judy Arnold and her husband, Merlin of Circleville; two sons, William J. and his wife Sherri, Holton and Roger of the home; three sisters; Mrs. Grace Flynn, Holton, Mrs. Ellen Kidney, Ottawa, and Mrs. Agnes Lundstrom, Denver, Colorado; a brother, Tim McAsey, Doniphan; two granddaughters, Kimberly and Shelley Arnold, both of Circleville and many nieces and nephews.
