Joseph L. Porubcansky, 66 of 103 Packer Drive, Francis Creek, died Sunday, January 1m, 1989 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 1:30 pm at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Donald Schneider and burial will be in the church cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by Otto Oas Post No. 659 of Manitowoc.
Mr. Porubcansky was born may 5, 1922 at Manitowoc, son of the late Phillip and Mary Martincek Porubcansky. He served in the United States Army during World War II, entering service in 1942 and serving overseas in the European Theatre. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Staff Sargeant. On April 27, 1946 he married the former Marian Kerscher at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The couple resided in Francis Creek. He was formerly employed at Marty Katzka Garage in Francis Creek, Lauson Chevrolet Co., in Manitowoc, Manitowoc Engineering co., and Natural Ovens, Manitowoc. He was a member of Otto Oas V.F.W. Post 659 of Manitowoc and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 716 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Elizabeth Porubcansky of North Union Road, Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Richard Reynolds of Diamond Road, Whitelaw; a sister-in-law, Ethel Porubcansky of Diamond Road, Whitelaw; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in0-law, Sylvia Bolzenthal of Shoto, Marcella and Leo Dirkman of Francis Creek and June and Paul Freimuth of Kellnersville; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward and an infant sister.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, 5 pm to 9 pm Monday and from 12 noon Tuesday to the time of services. Prayer services at 7 pm Monday be Deacon Don Schneider.
