Jessie Lorene (Giles) Garvin, born on March 4, 1931 to Angus McCaleb Giles and Lona Anai Giles, went to her eternal heavenly home Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the age of 84 years.

Lorene was born and spent most of her childhood in Colbert, Oklahoma. She attended school there with her siblings. She later attended a business school in Denison, Texas.
She moved to Wynnewood in her late teens to help care for her Grandmother Vineyard. It was there that she met the love of her life and best friend Tommie Garvin. She and Tommie were married on December 23, 1949. They shared 65 years of a wonderful life.

Lorene and Tommie spent most of their married life in Katie, Oklahoma. They had two children, Sandra Kay and Robert Eugene.

Lorene was employed by Elmore City Schools for 28 years, feeding and caring for all the children as they came for lunch each day. She was known for her wonderful homemade bread. She loved spoiling the teachers with coffee and homemade bread, toasted and buttered each morning in her office where they gathered.

The last few years of her life were filled with all her favorite things. She loved to sew, quilt, embroidery, read, and oil painting. She and Tommie were avid campers. They loved to go to Lake Texoma with Bonnie and Lynn Welcher to camp and jug line fish for catfish. While there they enjoyed visiting with dear family friends, the Tucker family. They could be found each Monday evening enjoying country music with cherished friends at the Wynnewood Senior Citizen Center.

Lorene was a devoted Christian lady. She loved the Lord. She loved her little church, Katie Victory Baptist, her pastor Johnny Beckham, and the many lifelong friends she worshipped with there.

Lorene is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Tommie Garvin; daughter Sandra and husband Mike; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Chad and Dawn Keller, sons Jacob and Nathan; Kristy Moyer, children Caleb and Kaycee; Shelby and Tyler Tadlock, sons Jaxon and Jenson; Robert Wayne and Jennifer Garvin, children, Noah and Genesis; sisters Donella Baecht and Joann Korbelic; and special family friends Bonnie and Lynn Welcher.

She was preceded in death by her loving son, Robert Eugene Garvin and his infant daughter, Stephanie Lynn.

Lorene was a gentle, loving, tenderhearted, Christian lady that will be forever missed by her family, friends, and her Katie community.

Funeral services - Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Katie Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Beckham officiating. Interment was in the Katie Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
