Annunziata Cipriani, age 63, late of 937 Moen Avenue, Rockdale, Illinois passed away suddenly, March 1, 1966.
While living in Italy, Annunziata was a peddler. She used to carry a basket of household items, such as thread, and went door-to-door selling her wares. She was 11 years old when she came to America with her mother Agatina and her sister Corina who was 10 years old. They docked at Ellis Island, passed through quarantine and then Joined Annunziata's father (Arturo) in Michigan. She lived with her family in Michigan for 7 years where she cleaned houses prior to meeting Joseph.
Annunziata (17 years old at the time) and Joseph (22 years old) were united in marriage on November 8, 1919 in Houghton, Michigan. Witnesses for their wedding were Theresa Federighi-Thompson (Nancy's cousin) and Donato "Don" Cipriani (Joseph's brother).
They moved to DeKalb, Illinois in the mid-1920s where working conditions were better and Joseph was employed as a laborer for the American Steel & Wire Division of U.S. Steel Corporation. They also took in boarders to make ends meet.

Annunziata was the wife of Joseph Cipriani who preceded her in death January 6, 1963. Left to mourn are her children, Vincent (Grace) Cipriani; Gilda (James) White, Tosca (Frank) Furlane, Teresa (William) Kezerle and Rosalie Cipriani. Grandmother of 16, Anthony Cipriani of Southhampton, United Kingdom, Laura, Mark, Debbie, Scott and Joyce Furlane; David and Diane Kezerle; Linda, Stephen, Nancy, Joan, Jeanette, Barbara, Raymond and Diane White all of Joliet. She is also survived by her sister Corina (Italo) Guisti of Black Eagle, Montana and brother, George (Virginia) Pacini of Joliet. Several nieces and nephews survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two infant brothers and one son, Peter.
Nancy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale where funeral services were held on Friday at 11 a.m.
Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Center at Campbell Street, Joliet.
