Noma's Story

Noma F. Lilly, 88, of Princeton, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Princeton Health Care Center. Born December 5, 1924 at Dott, she was the daughter of the late Samuel W. Shrewsbury and Birdie Florence Basham Shrewsbury. Mrs. Lilly was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Lilly in 2000; four brothers, Wardie Shrewsbury, Roy Shrewsbury, Hassel Shrewsbury and Cledith Shrewsbury; and three sisters, Goldie Sonak, Maudie McKinney and Amanda Akers. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Combs and her husband Lawrence of Lashmeet and Ramona Davis and her husband Gary of Princeton; one sister, Iris McGinnis of Princeton; two grandchildren, Angela Buckner and her companion Jimmy Sisk and Barry Buckner and his wife Melissa all of Princeton; one great-grandson, Christian Buckner of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. A cryptside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Friends attending the service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home by 1:45 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
