Alice Gerber, 93, of Platteville, died on Friday, May 13, 2016. Alice was born on June 30, 1922 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, daughter of Earnest and Paulina (Sturzenegger) Willborn. She was united in marriage to Max Gerber in September of 1940. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. Alice worked at the Burgess Battery factory, Platteville. Alice enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower gardens. She liked to yodel and bake apple pies, which were the best. She enjoyed eating limburger cheese, something she thought everyone should try it at least once. Animals had a special spot in her heart. Alice especially cherished and enjoyed the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by nine children, Ron (Pat) Gerber, Jerry (Marsha) Gerber, Fern (Bob) Leighty, Janet (Jack) Davis, Ginger (Greg) Ames, Lori (Kevin) Kase all of Platteville, WI; Bill (Marie) Gerber of Hazel Green, WI; Dave (Loretta) Gerber of Blanchardville, WI; and Virgie (Larry) Anderson of Scales Mound, IL; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Jacobson and Emma Wenger; one brother, John (Bobbie) Willborn; many nieces and nephews and pets, Gretta, Smudge, and Smokey.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter-in-law, Linda Gerber, three infant grandsons, Jody Lee, Robert, and Jerry Jr., one great-great-granddaughter, Chastity, siblings, Ernie, Hulda, Lena, Richard, Rudy, William, Lester, and Herman.
