Raymond J. Junk, age 96, of 936 South 35th Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence.

Raymond was born December 22, 1919, in the town of Johnson, son of the late William and Anna (Schmidt) Junk. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On August 21, 1965 he married the former Mary Gollata in Manitowoc. Ray was employed at Jagemann Plating until his retirement. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Junk, Manitowoc; three children: Rosanne (Brian) Bergene, Branch; Michael (Tina) Junk, Manitowoc; Mark Junk, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Malarie, Jacob, Autumn and Walker Bergene, Branch; one sister: Josie Theyerl, Francis Creek; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Virginia (Bruce) Klemm, Whitelaw: Helen (Joe) Frozena, Manitowoc; Carol (Dave) Gauthier, Manitowoc; Mike Gollata, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; five sisters and five brothers.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Cornerstone Community Church, 2705 Wollmer Street, Manitowoc. Pastor Guy Corrigall will officiate with burial of his cremated remains to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Military Graveside services will be accorded by VFW Otto-OAS Post #659 of Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family.
