William (Hoot) Junk, 68, of 3822 Mary St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, October 14, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Junk was born Oct. 21, 1911, at Athens, Wis., son of the late William and Anna Schmidt Junk. He married Evelyn VanDeurzen Aug. 22, 1942, at Combined Locks, Wis. They had owned and operated Hoot and Eve's Tavern in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 1975. Mr. Junk was a veteran serving in the United States Army and was a member of Manitowoc Senior Citizens and Laborers Union Local 1086.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William P. and Bonnie Junk of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and James Stadler of Clarks Mills and Jackie and Leon Miller of Manitowoc; four brothers, Andrew, Raymond and Philip Junk of Manitowoc and Julius Junk of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Eric (Ann) Bugs and Mrs. Ed (Helen) Spiering of Manitowoc, Sister M. Violate of Reedsville and Mrs. Vernon (Josephine) Theyerl of Francis Creek and nine grandchildren. A brother, John, and a sister, Elizabeth preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
