Helen R. Baker MARION Helen R. Baker, 89, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at her family home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, in Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Jim Slone, the Rev. Roger Perry and the Rev. Joye Perry officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Helen was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Johnston City, the daughter of John and Etta (Logan) Fletcher. She married John W Baker on May 31, 1941, in Johnston City. He preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1993. Helen was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Marion. She is survived by one daughter, Beth E. Rodd and husband, Rodger, of Marion; one granddaughter, Robyn Pankey and husband, Robert, of Marion; one grandson, Jim Rodd and wife, Tamara, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three greatgrandchildren, Taylor Pankey, Will Pankey and Austin Rodd; three sisters, Rose Mitchell of West Frankfort, Marian Mauzy of Johnston City and Kay Bozarth of Murphysboro; two brothers, Jack Fletcher and wife, Pat, of Marion and Virgil Fletcher and wife, Violet, of Collinsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tommy Baker on Sept. 10, 1991; one sister, Audra Brown; one brother, Cecil Fletcher; five brothers-in-law, Delmer Mitchell, Kenneth Mauzy, Ernest Bozarth, Carl Brown and Wally Baker; and sister-in-law, Lorilea Jennings.
