Buster Wright's "Burials and Deaths Reported in the Columbus (Georgia) Enquirer [Newspaper], 1832-1872" (1984), p. 121, shows: Margaret P. DeGRAFFENRIED, daughter of Dr. E. L. and M. S. DeGRAFFENRIED, died 11 JUN 1843, aged 4 years, in Columbus, Georgia (published 14 JUN 1843).
Mary Jane Galer's "COLUMBUS, GA: Lists of People, 1828-1852, and Sexton's Reports to 1866" (2000), p. 181, states: 1843 Sexton reports for January through September provide only the numbers of burials, cause of death and some burial dates, but no names were included. This child is probably the female child who died aged 4 years of scarlet fever and was buried in JUN 1843 (see p. 262).
This grave is probably not identifiably marked. It is almost certainly in the deGRAFFENRIED lot in the Old Cemetery section , where her parents have marked graves.
