Clarence Adams

ELWOOD - Clarence "Ted" Adams, 70, 1617 N. D St., Elwood, died Monday evening at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, following a brief illness. He was born June 25, 1918 in Jennings County and lived in Elwood most of his life. he retired from jewel Home Shopping Service after 25 years of service and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5782 of Elwood, Moose Lodge of elwood, and American Legion of Frankton. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Senior Citizens Center and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Madelin (Hall) Adams; three sons, John adams od anderson, James Adams and Daniel Adams, both of Elwood; a brother, Leslie Adams of lady Lake, Fla.; five sisters, Helen Chapman, Susan Clore, Rosemary Hoppes and marilyn Landes all of Anderson, and Juanita Brown of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Jacklet-Landrum Funeral HOme, 1629 Main St., Elwood, with the Rev. Dan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where VFW will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m.
