William Lester Adams
William Lester "Les" Adams, 61, 1520 W. Sixth St., died Sunday at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illness. He born in North Vernon and was employed at Weidner Chevrolet, where he was an automobile body repairman. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was active in several bowling leagues and the Special Olympics in Anderson. His wife, Mary Adams, preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Victoria May Clendenin of Spokane Wash., and Traci G. Adams of Anderson; four sons, David Lester Adams and William Scott Adams, both of Anderson, Richard William Adams and Lester Eugene Adams both of Florida; five sisters, Mrs. Noah (Helen) Chapman, Mrs. Walter (Sue) Clore, Mrs Kenneth (Rosemary) Hoppe, and Mrs. Philip (Marilyn) Landes all of Anderson and Mrs. Eldon (Juanita) Brown of Garland Texas; two brothers, Clarence Adams of Elwood and Leslie C. Adams of Florida; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Baker Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Jones officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
