Born in Wellsville, NY on May 28, 1943, Dick was the son of the late Alfred R. and Alice Marie (Edwards) Knowles. He was raised and attended schools in Wellsville.
Dick was a US Army veteran, serving his country with five years of military service. Following that he returned to Wellsville and was employed at the Worthington Company in Wellsville. He eventually worked for 13 years for the Canada Dry Bottling in Hornell where he was the warehouse manager. He was a former member of the Troupsburg Fire Department.
He is survived by his long time companion, Catherine Warren of Troupsburg, his step children, James (Lisa) Warren of Troupsburg and Christina Warren of Frazier, CO, his granddaughter, Breann Potter of Utah, his brother, Russell Knowles of Wellsville, his sisters, Beverly Abbott of Oswego, NY, Helen Hubbard of Dallas, TX and Alice Norine (Robert) Williams of Coppers Cove, TX along with several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Knowles Jr. and his sisters, Edith Morgan and Shirley Geer.
