MRS. MARY W. MOORE

Inman, Aug 18.--Mrs. Mary W. Moore, wife of W.M. Moore, died Sunday morning at 2:30 at the home of her son, L.W. Moore in Landrum after a lingering illness. Mrs. Moore was born near Cowpens 63 years ago, a daughter of Abner Smith and Mrs. Ruth Ann Waters. Mrs. Moore was one of the most beloved women of the section, where she has resided for the past 20 years. Possessed of an unusually cheerful disposition and always looking upon the bright side of life, her life was a benediction to all with whom she came in contact. She was one of the most active members of the Inman Methodist church and served for 18 years as president of the Ladies Aid society of the church. She was also a teacher of the Young Ladies Bible class for the past five years. In addition to teaching them on Sunday, she had them meet at her home each Monday afternoon for a period of study.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the late residence, conducted by the Rev. H.G. Ritter and the Rev. W.J. Bolt. Interment will follow at 11 o'clock in the family burial ground in Cowpens.
The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers: Vaud Stacey, Fred Williams, Cannon Waters, Jack Waters, Guy Oglesby, and Horace Waters.
Honorary pallbearers will be: R.D. Hicks, Jas A. Chapman Jr., S.W. Harris, H.E. Chapman, J.N. McElrath, R.T. Culp, D.B. Canaday, H.W. Ackerman, G.W. Golightly, John G. Landrum, Dr. George E. Thompson, Dr. C.J. Miller, Enoch Lawrence, Dr. A.R. Walden, C.B. Haynes, and W.C. Wilkins.
The following members of her Sunday school class will serve as flower girls: Misses Myrtle Foster, Myrlte Whitaker, Grace Ballenger, Fay Shehan, Ruth Clark, Lois Barnett, Dorothy Wingo, Annie Pearl Brown, Grace Fisher, Mary Jane and Helen Andrews, Fannie Kicks, Inez Lawson, Maggie Barton, and Nell Blackwell.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, W.M. Moore, president of the Moore Lumber company of Inman and Landrum; and the folowing children: Mrs. J.H. Waldrop of Asheville, N.C., I.W. Moore of Gaffney, L.W. Moore of Landrum, Kenan C. Moore, Charlotte; Marion A. Moore, Inman; Mrs. B.E. Bishop, Tryon; Marshall and Joe T. Moore of Belmont, N.C. Eleven grandchildren; three brothers, T.E. and L.C. Waters of Inman and J.E. Waters of Cowpens; and four sisters, Mrs. J.S. Oglesby of Cowpens; Mrs. Sallie Davis of State Line, N.C.; Mrs. J.C. Counts of Smoaks; and Mrs. Richmond Stacey of Gaffney also survive.
Her eldest son, A. Lloyd Moore, died ten years ago.
