Jimmy Vaughn Stone, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Jimmy was born in Sparta, TN and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1956 thru 1959. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. after 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dennis T. Stone and Daisy Steele Stone; brothers, Bobby Stone and Charles Stone; Sisters, Paula Thompkins, Dean Fleaher, and Sandra Lewis.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonita Foster Stone; children, Michael and Kim Stone, and James "Jimbo" and Kristy Stone; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Rick Reno; grandchildren, Diana Stone, Ben Stone, Jessica Stone, Daniel Stone, Riley Reno, Caleb Reno, and Emily Reno; sister, Dixie Phifer; great grandchildren, Mason and Brooklynn.
A Celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Tom Hatley and Pastor Jamie Peabody officiating. The Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, TN., 865-983-1000.
