Funeral services for Charles Dennis Stone, 70, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday April 27 at 1 o'clock in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the O'Connor Cemetery in White County. Bro. Johnny Fox and Rev. Ray Mabey will officiate.

Mr. Stone passed away April 24, 2010 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 22, 1939, in White County, to Dennis T. and Daisy Steele Stone.

Mr. Stone worked most of his career in the heating and cooling business. He and his son owned and operated Charles Stone Heating and Cooling Company, in Cookeville, since 1991.

He was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ.

He enjoyed woodworking, doing yard work, and traveling with his wife. He loved his grandsons, and they recently spent time together building a log cabin in the back yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dean Fleaher, and brother, Bobby Stone.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Elizabeth Sparks Stone, whom he married June 4, 1960, in Sparta and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sherri Stone, of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Doug Coleman, of Cookeville; four grandsons, Josh Coleman and Dalton Coleman, Adam Kidd and Alex Kidd; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Bonita Stone of Maryville, TN; and three sisters, Dixie Phifer, Sandra Lewis, and Paula Thompkins all of Sparta.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Charles D. Stone Heating and Cooling. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Mr. Stone's family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
