RL Beasley was born on March 22, 1929. His mother died of septicemia on April 11, leaving his father, who was a farmer in West Texas with a newborn and six other children ages 2,4,6,8,10,12. RL was "adopted" (his last name was never changed) and raised by the McGuire family in Fluvanna and Snyder, TX. Later in life he reconnected with his siblings a few times.
RL served with the Army Air Corp during WWII
and was a retired teacher with the Houston ISD.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Jenell and his second wife, Alma. A memorial was held on May 1, 2009 at Pat H Foley Funeral Home in Houston.
