DECATUR — Thomas S. Shelton, 81, of Decatur, passed away at home on Nov. 1, 2017 with his wife of 59 years, Carolyn, at his side. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a lifelong North Alabama resident and retired from Frehauf Corp. Mr. Shelton was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a Mason, and a member of Aluminum Workers International. He loved country music and travel. Mr. Shelton is preceded in death by his parents, Scebe Shelton and Lettie Shankle Shelton; one granddaughter; one great-great-grandson; seven brothers and four sisters.

Mr. Shelton is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Shelton; children, Donnie Shelton (Shelly), Alan Shelton, Kathleen Davis (Stephen) and Robert Shelton; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Anthony Ford officiating. A visitation service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
