Ward Holt Shelton 62, homebuilder
Graveside service for Ward Holt Shelton, 62, of Decatur will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Basham Cemetery with the Rev. Estus L. Hardin officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Shelton died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Alabama to Newton Sebern Shelton and Lettie Shankle Shelton. He was a self-employed homebuilder with Shelton Construction, and a member of the Eagles' lodge and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Lane Shelton; one son, Steve W. Shelton of Decatur; three brothers, Thomas Shelton and Barney Shelton, both of Decatur, and Ben Shelton of Hartselle; one sister, Velma Shelton-Nesmith of Caddo; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alan Shelton, Donnie Shelton, Keith Shelton, Rick Lott, Conley Aldredge and Gary Taylor.
