Lloyd A. Bollinger Sr., 98, of Lower Towamen-sing Township, died Thursday, May 31, in his home surrounded by family. For 70 years, he was the husband of the late Marie B. (Schaffer) Bollinger, who passed away in 2012.
He was a co-owner and operator of Bollin-ger Bro-thers Construction for 63 years. During World War II, he worked for the war effort at Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Born in Lower Towamensing Township, he was a son of the late Jonas and Annie (Eckhart) Bollinger.
He was a longtime member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville. He was a past president of the Palmerton Exchange Club, a former Brother in F. & A.M. No. 440, Slatington; and a former member of the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Holland, and a son, Lloyd Jr., both of Palmerton; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Clarence, Russell and Harvey; and three sisters, Stella Kreger, Lillie Costenbader and Emma Taylor.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 500 Church Dr., Palmerton. Call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, and 10-11 a.m. Monday in the church. www.tk-thomas-fh.com.
