MUNCIE - Lawrence Ennis Glasson, 76, Muncie, passed away Friday morning, June 22, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Marion County, April 20, 1931, the son of Margaret (Richard) Glasson and Lewis E. Glasson. Lawrence grew up in Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School.

He received a degree from Ball State University in Fine Arts and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and studied in France and Mexico.

He taught arts and sculpting in his studio in Quakertown, Pennsylvania for many years.

Lawrence had sculptures exhibited in California, New York and Pennsylvania and an art exhibit displayed in the Grand Saks Gallery in New York.

His memberships include the Grace Episcopal Church.

Mr. Glasson was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include three sisters, Betty Gunckel, Anderson, Gloria Robinson, (husband-Graham), Farmland and Grace Case, Muncie; one brother, Darrell Glasson, (wife-Anna), Selma; several nieces and nephews; and several friends in Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Joyce Marley, Inez Vearrier and Audrey Smith; and one brother, Bob Glasson.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Keith Dobyns officiating.

Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 2:00 until 6:00 Sunday.
