He was born Mary 25, 1935 in Watertown, SD, the son of Louis and Margaret (Richards) Glasson.
Darrell moved to Muncie as a child, graduated from Muncie Central High School and lived the rest of his lifetime in this area. He worked for Northfolk and Southern Rail Road for 40 years until he retired in 1996. Darrell enjoyed camping, boating, and traveling. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Robert "Bob" Glasson (wife-Denise), La Cruces, NM, Loretta Breedlove (husband-Dean), Albany, and Carol Personette (husband-Rod), Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren, Maggie, Zach, and Kyle; two step-grandchildren, Meranda and Jason Breedlove (wife-Robin); four great-grandchildren; his wife, Anna (Personett) Glasson, Denver, CO; two sisters, Gloria Robinson (husband-Graham) and Betty Gunckle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Kate Glasson; three brothers, and four sisters.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Wasington Street Chapel, with Pastor Jack Holiday officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
