ATHENS - Services for Lois Oceil McFadden, 85, Athens, formerly of Cransfill Gap, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel, Athens, with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Athens Cemetery.

Mrs. McFadden died June 29, 2007, in Athens.

She was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Mosheim to the late Jess and Mary Dockins Simmons. She graduated from Mosheim High School and attended business college in Fort Worth. During World War II she was a "Rosie the Riveter" in the shipyards at Portland, Ore. She lived in Webster for 30 years where she owned and operated Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery for more than 20 years, and was a member of South Houston Order of the Eastern Star and was awarded a 50-year member recognition. She retired to Cransfill Gap and after 20 years moved to Athens in 2002. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clifton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jodie McFadden; grandson, Corey Wayne Babb; brothers, Proctor, Troy, Otis, Oscar, Trave, Johnny, Talmadge and Jimmy Simmons; and sisters, Jessie Simmons and Alice Rosenquist.

Survivors include son, Michael McFadden, Flint; daughter, Jodie Babb, Athens; brother, Henry Simmons, Corpus Christi; sister, Amanda Brock, Purmela; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Steve Harris, Ben Long, Larry Babb, Ron Theriot, Claude Brock, Mel Deason, Jack Miller, Dr. Douglas W. Curran and James Simmons.

Family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
