He has one sister, Lucille 'Carlton' Vaughn and six brothers, George Carlton, James Carlton, Ishmel Carlton, Doy Carlton, Ford Carlton and John Carlton.

Aldon's paternal grandparents are Alfred and Elizabeth 'Thomas' Carlton.

His maternal grandparents are Eli Joshua Neal and Melinda 'Cowan' Neal.

Aldon was killed in a tractor trailer accident. His brother in law, Arvil Reynolds was the owner and driver of the semi. A car pulled out in front of the truck and Arvil took the ditch so he wouldn't hit the car which probably saved the live of all the occupants of the vehicle.

Aldon was mortally injured in the accident. As he lay dying his last words were prayers that his brother in law would one day accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. A few years later Arvil did just that.

What better legacy to leave on this Earth than to have you last few breaths used in prayer for the soul of someone you love.

I'm adding this to this special man's memorial on his birthday, It's a few words his son, Don, had shared on Face book about his dad. Happy Birthday, Aldon.

"This is a memory of my daddy, whose patience with me knew no end. I have a memory of wanting to stay outside and play during church at Shiloh and being made to come inside, most likely by mother, who was always the disciplinarian. I lay in his lap and cried as if the world had ended, long enough for a mixture of tears and snot to create a big wet spot on his khakis. He should have "given me something to cry about," but instead he just raised my head, wiped his leg with a handkerchief, and put my head back down without saying a word. He was known by all for his gentleness, being soft-spoken and shy. "
