The death of a well-known and very popular lady, Mrs. Montgomerie, widow of the late Captain Alex Montgomerie, took place recently at Wanganui, following after a serious operation. Captain and Mrs. Montgomerie took up property at Makirikiri in the early seventies, and lived there up till the time of their death. There were thirteen children, and six daughters and three sons survive their parents. There are forty-five grandchildren and twenty-five greatgrandchildren.
