Mary Benton's Services Held

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday for Mary Jo Benton, a long time Madill resident.
Rev. Clifford Joines of McAlester officiated the services held from Watts Memorial Chapel. He was assisted by Rev. Mike Howard of the Madill Church of the Nazarene. Music was arranged by Mrs. A M Poole with Mrs. Kay Beasley as organist. Burial was in the Woodberry-Forest cemetery.
Miss Benton was born April 8, 1894, at Bonham, Texas, where she lived until moving to Madill in 1912.
An early poliomyelitis victim, Miss Benton had been an active member of the Madill Church of the Nazarene for a number of years.
In ill health for the past year, Miss Benton died Sunday afternoon in a local nursing home at the age of 80.
She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Benton of Wichita Falls and Glenn Benton of Borger, Texas and two sisters, Mrs. Ila Jagers of Madill and Mrs. Lona Belle Hull of Welch, Oklahoma.
Casket escorts were Walter Hill, Wilbur Hearn, Clark Benton, Burley Carroll, Walter Baber and J.C. Long.
